Air conditioning is often installed by two companies: one mounts the units, the other comes for the power connection. With us one team does both – with a refrigerant handling certificate and an electrical contractor in-house. That saves an appointment and an interface.

Since 2024 air conditioning and refrigeration has been a dedicated division at HD-Überwachung. The focus is on split and multi-split systems for living rooms, offices, practices, hotel rooms and server rooms – and on combining them with solar PV so that summer cooling runs on your own electricity.

Refrigerants R32 and R290

Current units run on R32 or increasingly propane (R290). Both place requirements on location and installation. We choose the unit by room, pipe length and regulation – not by what is in stock.

FAQ

What customers ask us about air conditioning

Do I need a permit for the outdoor unit?

Usually not, but distance rules and noise limits apply (German TA Lärm). In rented flats you need the owner's consent. We advise on the location.

How often does air conditioning need maintenance?

Once a year: filters, heat exchanger, condensate drain, leak test, electrical check. For larger charges the F-gas regulation requires leak testing.

R32 or R290 – which is better?

R290 has a very low global warming potential but higher requirements for placement and pipe routing. We choose by installation situation – both are standard with us.

Can the air conditioner heat too?

Yes, modern split units are air-to-air heat pumps and heat very efficiently in spring and autumn. For attics, extensions or workshops often the most economical solution.
